First roll double 6's.

Should I double or no?

depends on what your opponents two rolls were and how you played your 66

I played the 66 the only way i know how to. I took the 7 and the 18 spot.
Then he rolled a 53 and took the 22 spot.

I'm not sure if you're playing the same game I am.

But if what you described was legal (in a "normal" game of backgammon you can't open with 66) then I think doubling might be ok at that matchscore,
since you can be a bit more aggressive with the cube leading 4-away, 5-away.

I think some people play so that if you win the opening roll, you can choose to play the opening roll or re roll and you're forced to play that.

It shouldn't happen if you are playing any kind of rules that resemble good ones. But if it does happen, then my thinking is that you should double. Or play NLHE hyper turbos.
