My first try:

Making the 7 seems pointless as he'll just make the 5 and hold there til the end. The 3 options are to make the 20, 10, or hit the 5.

I did read in some of the early ones that making either 5-point can't be that wrong, but our back men aren't in any danger right now. I like making the 10 to try to keep his back men trapped and give the back men somewhere to run (is this what you mean by prime?) later.

A prime is a blockade of consecutive points made by the same player. Usually, we start talking about a prime when you have 4 or more points, therefore a 4-prime, a 5-prime or a 6-prime, also known as a full prime.

There are also broken primes. As an example, you could have 6 consecutive points of which you hold 5 of them, with the other one still up for grab in the middle.
