I am sure one of the experts here knows a page that is less than 10 years old with a table which move is the best

There are two complete volumes on How to Play the Opening in Backgammon by Bill Robertie. I have some vague idea in my head about a 3rd volume pending but it’s entirely possible I’m making that up. But yeah, the opening is important and potentially complex. Match score can definitely have an effect on your decisions.
