Is this move compulsory? Is this move compulsory?

I was playing a game against a friend of mine. She had one piece on the bar. She rolled a 53. If she came in with the 5 die then she would NOT have been able to make a move with the 3 die anywhere. But if she came in with the 3 die then she would have had a move with the 5 die...

I told her the moves were compulsory and she had to come off the bar with the 3 die. She replied, "hell no biatch, if I only want to move the 5, then I can."

Was I right? A case of Newcastle Brown Ale is riding on this.
