This version of backgammon is played just like the regular game, except the object of the game is to lose!
One of the most beautiful games you can play on a backgammon board.
also the deepest, the most difficult to learn, (more skill involved than in ordinary backgammon. (in my opinion).
It needs patience and practice to figure it out.
Game Plan: Two main fundamentals to start the game;
1- Slot your checkers in your home board. so you have a single checker sitting alone on points 2-3-4-5 points (Blots)
2- never move your Runners/back men (two checkers that began the game on the opponent's one-point)- if you can get an advanced anchor, it's better. but never chose to leave a Blot on your opponent's home board.
Timing is every thing in this game. when to begin hitting, when to avoid battles, when to play defense (a prime of Blots). almost every move is key move.
100 pip difference is no big deal most of the tome you still can get back in the game with ease.
most of the times it's advised to hit (if you're going to) Two checkers instead of One, to force your opp. to hit back. there are many important details that you pick up with practice.
when you first try it you may get frustrated (eg 20. straight losses). but as soon as you get grasp of it and understand it, you'll find it very interesting and challenging.

Such a game must last a very long time.

A mild understatement. Some friends and I tried this one evening in the 1970s. We gave up after an hour or two when the first game had yet to end.

I havn't tried it, but WBIF Germany (wbif.de) is hosting an annual online tournament of Misere called "Crazy Christmas, Ruprecht". The ninth edition just ended and they had some international participants too.
