i heard this a good idea, but do anyone know how you can arrange the speed in extreme gammon v1, because if you let the bot playing against himself on normal level its way to fast, and if you let him play on higher level it takes forever.

In "Options" and "Settings" under the game tab you can set "min. delay between moves".

This method will yield results over time, but you can improve much faster by playing the bot yourself, letting it analyze the match afterwards, and studying your mistakes.

If you have a mistake you can't figure out, just post it here and you'll get plenty of help.

thanks for the answer, of course im playing the bot myself too
like 2 to 4 hours per day right now,

do you think this is all i need to improve, or do i have to read some books?

enjoyed your backgammon for serious players
but i only have advanced backgammon in a version , at least in german , from 197x

i want to reach like around 2000 xg elo by the end of the year in money play
is that achiechable? right now i play around 1800.

1800 -> 2000 by the end of the year (7 weeks?) seems like a stretch. Give yourself a little more time.

2-4 hours of just playing, or playing + analyzing your mistakes?

This is a very big difference, 200 Elo = ~6 PR. I don't think it is achievable in such a short period of time.

playing and after looking at my mistakes
sometimes when i am motivated i also save every position i made a mistake over 0,20 and save it seperately to go over it later.
if someone has other suggestions i would really welcome them

and actually i dont know my true elo, its very difficult to guess, because sometimes i play really tired, so i make alot of dumb mistakes, also i noticed that playing on the computer i tend to make some really stupid oversights, which i dont think i would make on a normal board.

i guess i will play like 30 to 50 games against the bot but playing on the normal board to evaluate my play better

If you want to have Elo rating over 2000, that's PR of about 6,5, you should lower your threshold from 0,200 to at least 0,100.

Don't play when you're tired and not fully concentrated on your match/session.

Play less games, let's say 20. Take much more time to analyze your mistakes. Go through bot's moves also and see if you would play something differently, try to see why bot is not making your move.

Buy yourself a good book. My recommendation: Walter Trice - Backgammon Boot Camp
