I live in midtown miami, near an art/warehouse district called Wynwood. In Wynwood there a lot of bars that are stocked with boardgames. A few have bg boards. As an experiment I'm gonna suggest to one of the bars that they run a contest: At a certain date (at least a month from the announcement so people have a chance to learn and practice) I play all comers and give x amount of money to anyone who beats me 3 out of 5 (or maybe 2 out of 3) dmp games.

Not having to invest in such a contest, I imagine those starving, barely employed hipsters (not putting them down, I'm pretty much of their ilk myself) will be instantly downloading the free XG app on their smart phones.

I would probably lose to someone at some point. But if it helps the game and i get a few free beers out of it, it sounds like a blast.

Actually, sounds like a really good idea. The BG boards are probably left over from the 1970s, when bars used to have boards set up all the time and would run weekly or monthly tournaments.
