How do you value cube ownership? How do you value cube ownership?

Like a lot of people I have trouble knowing when to double and the considerations you should. One thing in particular I have never been sure about is how you should value owning the cube, i.e what is the value of keeping control of it (presumably to prevent your opponent on putting you in a difficult situation if your range of dice rolls has a high equity standard deviation). Anyone got any ideas?

There was a bit of a discussion about the cube in the following two threads. You might want to have a look.

Yes im familiar with the statistical requirements for doubling/calling a double but my question was:

How can you factor in your opponents ability to double you at a later point in the game in to your decision.
