Hi all - is there a variation of backgammon where doubles don't count twice? eg say you roll double five, you get to move 5 spaces twice, and not four times. Thanks

I don't know the answer, but this subforum is for poker. There actually is a subforum for backgammon. A mod could move this question there.

I think so. There are a lot of variants.

Back in university, cough35yearsagocough, I played many variants, including this one. Not as fun as some others, but okay. We really liked variants where you had to bear in as well as bear off.
