From a game I play this afternoon. Green to play 4-1 from the bar. Score is 2-away, 2-away and I already sent the cube on my first roll. What do you play here ?

pretty clear, a banana split is asked for. Otherwise blue might hit or not, save his checker on the 3 and a single checker is like a slippery eel. Outboarded 4-1 with an additional possible shot on the 2nd checker and gammon not counting b/24,6-5* is the only solution

I am not familiar with English terms in backgammon, but I think you should "hit" blue and "expose" two of your checkers.

I could have given a different answer if one of your "exposed" checkers had not been within the "6-range" of your opponent.
