What is the difference between a Match play length of 1 and Unlimited Games with a length of one?

In unlimited games, the cube is in play and gammons and backgammons count double and triple. In 1 point matches, there's no cube and gammons and backgammons don't matter, it only matters who wins the game.

So for instance, in a one point match, the computer will always make the play it thinks wins the most. Not so in an unlimited game. It may make a play that wins the game less if it wins more gammons.

For unlimited games, usually the Jacoby rule is on which means the cube has to be turned for gammons and backgammon to count.

AHHHH understand - SO - Since I'm just getting back into gammon from a few decades ago - I am playing cubeless at the moment to reacquaint myself with basics but you say there are gammons and backgammons.

And you answered a question on the Jacoby rule - I need to look up that raccoon thing LOL

I tell ya - playing Gammon Galaxy is an eye opener. I thought I was pretty good . . . . .40 years ago :-) I had forgotten how much I like the game.

this is like learning to walk again.
