I thought I had made the best move duplicating the four and giving me another checker to close the four point. Why is it wrong.?

I might have done the same play but it is a little riskier. You're leaving 2 extra shots and 2 hit and cover numbers. Duplicating 4s doesn't help cut down on the shots because you also get hit with 22.

Also, you should say the score of the match when posting a position. I see that's it's 0-0 but you don't say how long the match is.

Not only is 11 and 13 fewer shots but it leaves no numbers that both hit and cover the 4-point.
