Whether you choose a Coin Game, a Rating Game or Play a Friend, what determines the number of coins at stakes?

I know it cannot be more than what any of the players possesses at the time of the game, but otherwise it seems relatively random to me.

Wow, either the answer is so obvious (and I'm too dumb to figure it out) that nobody cares to answer or it's anything but transparent and no one has a clue.

I'll assume the latter until proven otherwise.

Yes, I'm currently using the BG Galaxy app on Android.
But I might try the website eventually, it's the same account, isn't?

You can't use your website account for the app. So probably not in the other direction either.
The advantage on the website is: You can set how many coins are at stake.

It's really strange (and bad imo) that the website and app are distinct.

Which one has the bigger player pool?

I'd like to know the answer to this question for the app. It's common for me to be playing a rating game for over 1/4 of my coins. While the coins are free, this is terrible BR management. My ROR is through the roof because I kind of suck and they keep matching me with much better opponents.
