Hi - I'm looking for the best actual physical board to play on - Does anyone have any recommendations or a site that sells nice hardware?

Go perhaps to a major tournament and look there and ask for a touch. My personal preference would be a gammoner board (very much like the legendary dresen boards). If you like a felt surface in the inner board (ever played craps?), this is your board. I don't like the clicadeclac of wood. This is a silent board with easy shifting checkers, and you can look for your own colors for the felt and the leather(www.gammoner.de).

Looks like real good quality, but the price was steep! My board is not the nicest but I got it for 150 euros. Those boards cost 10 times that. Even if it is handmade I cant justify that amount of money on a backgammon board.

My son would like to have a nice backgammon set. He's rather unique so I'm thinking vintage. Could you express your opinion about this set on eBay, please?
