Could anyone point me to a thread or website that talks about proper strategy for bearing off? Does anyone here have any basic principles about proper play that they could share? The extent of my knowledge is trying to have an even checker count spread throughout the 1-6 point , but I have trouble knowing which checkers to move when one of the points is empty etc.

1. Don't spread them evenly, but as a triangle (5 on the 6-point, 4 on the 5-point... 1 on the 2-point)
2. When you can't bearoff a checker, fill the highest gap
