Here's a link to a review of the P-40 set, which is the current favorite among tournament players:

Bill, just so you know, the cost of a P-40 board has risen a bit since your review. I believe the lowest price now is $995.00.

brewhaw didn't mention what his budget is, and I suspect $995.00 might be a bit much. If, by chance, his budget is closer to $300.00, for example, then I recommend a Wycliffe Brothers board from GammonVillage.

These tournament-size boards are just $265 and are a very good bang for your buck. There's a lot of other nice boards at this site too.

Finally, the FTH boards at Gammon Stuff are worth looking at too.

It's worth mentioning that, for a budget in the $200-$300 range, Crisloid is back in business and doing a good job with its new sets: www.crisloid.com.

What price range do you consider "extremely nice"? For some, a $250 Crisloid is extremely nice. For others, as mentioned, it would be a $1k P-40. And for the rare few, it would be a $4k Geoffrey Parker.
