I find Bkg Galaxy very difficult to use. Mainly because my opponent's checker moves are shown simultaneously and instantaneously, making if often hard to see what he actually did. If the checkers moved one at a time, it would help, but better would be if they "slid" so you could actually see the starting and ending positions. Is there any way to modify the interface to achieve this? And does anyone else have the same problem?

No way to modify the interface, and every one has the same problem. Marc Olsen is aware of the issue and I'm sure it's on their to-do list.

I felt this way when I first started playing on Galaxy, but I've actually come to prefer it the way it is. It causes me to think more about my opponent's moves while they are playing. Then, when their checkers show up, they're either where I'm expecting them to be, or I'm challenged with different information than I was expecting. Either way, I feel like I've gained something small but useful in that moment. In addition, it just feels "faster" this way which I like because clock management is a weak point for me, and it playing this way has helped me get into the zone a little bit more and concentrate a bit better.

Point is, stick with it and see if you get used to it. I know I did.

Been playing on this site a bit. Pretty good competition. Can't figure out how the rating system works (top rating 1734). AW

It's just a normal ELO system BUT you have to win both the match and the PR competition to earn points (and lose both to lose points). If you play better/lose or worse/win no points change hands.
