Do gammons account for anything in a one game match? OR - if it does not the the software account for errors on leaving checkers back there when you lose?

I'm sorry - this question was asked once before. Follow up. In a one game match . . . does it matter if you are gammoned? A friend says it changes all the strategy and won't play there (he likes 1 game matches). is he being obtuse?

Gammons don't matter on one-point matches. They also don't matter, of course, in, for example, a 7-point match when both players have six points.

But yes, SINCE gammons don't matter in 1-point matches, if can and often does affect you strategy and your play. For example, the proper move in a 7-point match, when the score is zero to zero, might be for you to hit a blot and attempt to gammon your opponent. Gammons are relevant here and winning one is desirable. And yet that same exact position in a 1-point match might be to not hit that blot. You don't care about winning gammons, so you want to make the play that simply wins the most games.
