Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice, but non-luxury tournament/large sized backgammon board/set? Most of the sets I've been seeing online have been $300+, and they look really nice, but is a bit more than I'd like to spend right now.

Try ebay, there usually are some nice sets for sale for a decent price (50-100$)

Ebay is is a great place to look! I bought a decent set half a year ago for around $100-150.

No idea if they still sell equipment, but check out http://www.thegammonpress.com
It is Bill Robertie's company and in the past I have bought sets, dice cups, books, etc.
