I hit on 18 and keep it going. Hitting on 18 gains the most in the race and when you keep it going, it takes away white's only good 6.

If you are get away with it, you will have preferred to play 24/18* 13/10, but it looks like that gives White too many good numbers. Really don't want to let White hit with aces which unstacks his 8.

And hitting on the 18 seems to have more going for it than hitting on the 7.
