After the hit, there are probably three candidate 6s.

What would you play and why?

Easy. White is stripped everywhere, has no builders in the attacking zone, and her 3pt gapped board is far from decisive. Just go for maximum coverage and connectivity with 24/21* 23/17. If she hits, she disconnects, leave blots, we have a lot of returns, and the blitz threat is very low. In deep vs deep positions (when both sides have many checkers back) the outfield control is a major factor.

I don' think that running off the 2 point would have occurred to me, I would automatically have continued on with 21/14. Even looking at it now with what you've said I'd be concerned about all the blots lying around!

Thank you, Karol. Adding white builders changes the decision. Now it is correct to play safe 13/7:

White - Pips 145 (-17)

Black - Pips 162 (+17)

Another example of the idea. Probably more extreme.
White - Pips 170 (-8)

Black - Pips 178 (+8)
Black to Play 5-4

Correct is 23/18 21/17*, after which the position is about equal.

2nd and 3rd best:
21/16 21/17* (-.122)
21/17* 13/8 (-.250)

Some other moves:
23/14 (-.336)
13/9 13/8 (-.613)
