6-2 to play

White - Pips 147

Black - Pips 154
Black to Play 6-2
Created with www.BGdiagram.com

Hitting is probably obvious.
What is the 2nd half and why?

Re: 6-2 to play

If you are going to hit, I think you must bring in a builder with 13/7.

Playing 13/7 without the hit looks bad, leaving only 22/16 for the six - then what for the two?

6/4 13/7.

Re: 6-2 to play

I think I like jumping out with the 6. You have him outboarded 3-1 so seeking contact is usually a good idea. Notice that not only are all of his numbers to hit outside (1, 2, 4) duped to enter, but he also will have to leave at least one extra blot in a position where, again, he's outboarded. Meanwhile next turn you can often either make the 4, 13, or 16, all with different numbers (2 and 4 for 4, 3 for 13, 5 for 16).

Notice also that if you come down you will need to roll almost perfect actually close this 5 prime you're threatening, and in the meantime you have 4 guys behind his gappy block just wanting to get in the action.

I like 6/4* 22/16 too.

Hit to contain, make use of stronger board, and because I'm behind in the race.

22/16 to connect. His hits are weak with his weak board, and risky due to our returns.
13/7 would disconnect and try to blitz only 1 blot, with 4 our guys behind.

Agree with 22/16 6/4*. You might get batted around, but 4 men back behind decent blocking structure just begs for one of them to be set free. It'd be very nice for Black to reestablish a point in White's outfield.

Jumping out makes sense. Thank you everyone for explanations!
