Split or slot? Why?

I'm most likely wrong, but I would split to polarize the position and make it easier to determine what to do next. Reason being if white doesn't hit back, then you have a lot of very nice rolls available on your next turn. If white double hits 18 and 24, then it's most likely going to be a drop if you fan or only get one in and don't hit back. If he hits one of your blots only and you can roll back in, then your position is not bad, but an easy drop if you fan.

If I slot the 5, I wouldn't really know what my game plan would be if I got hit, and if he misses my position still sucks.

I think I will answer my question by myself as I learned something since posting the problem.

There is no indication to split in this position. White is not split, she does not have an advanced anchor and we are not blocked being on 24pt as 6s are open from there.

At the same time, there is an indication not to split: 10 white checkers in the zone.

So black should not split.

13/7 starts an inferior point and strips mid point.
11/5 starts a much better point, leaving even fewer shots.

Bar/24 11/5 is the best here.
