Any pros want to chime in on what the correct play is here and why?

Not a pro by any stretch, but would probably venture the obvious hit, so 24/17* or 22/17* 8/6.

why not 22/17*/15 in order to duplicate white's 3 ?

Hitting is always an option, but it does leave some blots. What about Magriel's safe vs. bold? White's board is better. Black has a blot in his board. White has an anchor and black has not. All this argues for a safe play.

Against that, this is money game center cube, no worries of gammons. So maybe hitting is ok. Still, I don't think sending a fourth man back to a strong anchor position will gain all that much winning chance.

Overall I would play 24/22 8/3.

The top two plays look like the hit 24/17* and the super-solid 8/3 24/22. Over the board I'd probably hit since it equalizes the race and there's some duplication of 3s coming back. But if I were in a chouette and my partners wanted the solid play I wouldn't object. It's probably pretty close.

This is the position I usually play in a way and the other choiche is 0.04 or 0.05 stronger. I would play 24/17* so the correct move must be 24/22 8/3.

24/17* also duplicates 3s. Also, use duplication only as a tie-breaker. Here, it looks like 24/17* is substantially better than 22/17*/15.
