I would never play 3/2, but it makes sense if you're going to split the back men. Get an exchange of hits and catch up in the race. 13/8 for me. Give the 9 and make white break somewhere. Don't like playing behind white.
I'll play 8/3. White has 13 hits, but his board isn't good so we can reenter easily and the game goes on. Meanwhile, White's 23 non-hits are now pretty bad. When your opponent's position gets awkward and ugly, you want to build your board quickly and play for contact.
