After hitting 21, no idea about which checker to advance 1 point. Seems close but turned out it does not.

i would play to the 16 to avoid the good sixes off the bar that playing to the 20 gives him

You can also hit the one at 14, and then move it to 13

Hitting inner board blots is more important since you prevent your opponent from making that point.

17/16 Doesn't duplicate 3s which would both want to hit and make the outfield point if you played 21/20 so for that reason I'd play 17/16.
