1 Point Matches vs. Money Games 1 Point Matches vs. Money Games

I have been playing Backgammon for quiet some time, but I have mostly been playing 1 point matches.

I have started playing money games, but the problem is that my checker play error rating is a lot higher in the money games than in the 1 point matches.

If anyone has any advice or can recommend any books or articles for adapting my checker play to money games from 1 point mathes, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

When you restrict yourself to playing 1-point matches, you're only playing a subset of backgammon: you've taken out the cube and gammons. So your error rate will be lower, but at a big cost.

Any good book on backgammon will be of help. Start with Magriel's 'Backgammon' and move on from there.
