Sorry I don't have a link to the story right now. I heard it on the radio while driving into work today. Apparently when she was first told by the FBI to be aware and check if anyone was following her she laughed it off with a joke about how it might help her not be so self-centered. However now she's moved and is in hiding with a new identity. I don't have much to add to get a conversation going besides saying **** religion but I figured it was worth posting. yay yay its not religion's fault it just some crazies, blah blah.

I wonder if those against the mosque (on the grounds that it's likely to pose a safety risk) also think she was silly for stirring up danger to herself and others.

That thread was a bit busy for me to follow assiduously, but didn't Splendour change her mind? I thought Original Position persuaded her she should shift her position.

eh, she wrote a quick sentence along the lines of, "ok you're right"...but then after that she continued as if she didn't rly change her mind. Then i asked her to clearly state her position and she declined. so maybe she did, maybe she didn't, but it's hard to tell.

We have to ask ourselves if we are going to allow regilous people to compromise what i believe to be central to a free society. In a tolerant society you are allowed to be offensive. This is something I thought was a given. I have had enough of needing to compromise for the reglious groups. Sorry if you don't like a modern free liberal society, where all people and views are tolerated you can just F off imo.

She didn't actually propose "Draw Mohammed Day" anyway, or so she claims. It was just a satirical fake poster which was taken seriously by everyone else.
