Maybe one of the most common arguments I hear from moderates, religious and nonreligious alike, is basically along the lines of "why bother? Just let them believe whatever." Everyone here basically knows our response to this, so rather than rehash, I will link to this article. You need not read past the subtitle:

that there are still institutions, let alone stupid people, who can make pronouncements of this sort with a serious face is baffling and depressing. this is why, in the other thread, i said religious folk need to be endlessly berated...until they shut the **** up. religion has had nothing of interest or importance to say for centuries.

"why bother with those that arent hurting anyone? Just let them believe whatever as long as it doesnt interfere with other people"

Of course. But there is a very widespread belief that this is actually the majority of religion when it is by far the minority.
