The message cannot be clearer. If you have a lot of money and don’t give it away to the church or the poor god presumably casts you into an eternity of fire. Yet people still consider Christianity to be something of moral value and something to aspire to be.
And yet these despicable beliefs continue to flow through otherwise good people.
And before anyone wants to pretend the bible didn’t say this or didn’t mean this:
It says it and it means it. Only in America can people sit and be fine with the thousands of threats and discrimination the bible casts on various groups of people, and then turn around and call atheists “strident” or “angry” or “bigots” for questioning them.
God doesn't hate rich people.
The point using the word rich, has to do with the attitudes that people have even if they are poor.
Money is not evil at all, its neuter.
The key to it all is this; "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil"
Money is not evil, but the LOVE of money is.
Meaning MONEY is all you think about, it is your main driving force, your main motivation.
Most men trust in their money more than they trust in God to supply their needs.
All of the world is set up to make men have to work for money to survive, they are always under someone elses thumb for the most part.
The mentality is MONEY, MONEY, MONEY because thats what we are taught and trained we need to survive in life.
Yes we need money, but there is a way to have sufficiency in life, plenty to live and plenty to give without selling out to the almighty dollar.
Money represents the material, phsical realm. Its hard for people who have lots of material wealth to go after God with all their heart.
To love God with all your heart, mind body and soul requires that your mind is focused on God and the things of God the majority of the time.
A man who LOVES money and the material realm has a mind that is continuously thinking of MONEY or things or of a way to get more of them.
You cant love God and mammon, a overwhelming passion and desire for the material realm.
If you love God and keep Him first in you life, by your thoughts first then He promises to supply ALL YOUR NEEDS. That way you have no sorrow with your riches when they come from God.
Riches gained anyother way always have a barb, a fish hook that someway or another gets you in the end.
