If you mean by "good works" before the acceptance of "grace", that is
correct (e.g., Ephesians chapter 2 seems like a relevant passage ). "Good
works" are important after receiving the "gift of grace".

Long story short, now I still believe in an ultimate creator, but one unlike anything that you could imagine or describe. However, I don't believe in any religious doctrine because I think it was created to appease the masses, establish order, and keep the world from total anarchy.
G-d is ultimately beyond human comprehension, but that doesn't mean that
everything is incomprehensible. It's quite remarkable that humans can make
sense of almost everything they put their mind to. Some of that "religious
doctrine" makes little sense except possibly for purposes you have described.
I'm sure many others think similarly on this matter.

I have also come to believe that we are nothing but birds in a cage. Birds in a giant fu...ing cage. We just are the top of the food chain. It's also all a matter of perspective.
Humans have many limitations: humans can't easily go beyond the bounds of
the biosphere of the earth and they are restricted (at least in this life) to
their bodies of "flesh and blood". What differentiates humans from other
observable life on this planet is the mind and it's important that our minds
aren't "chained" by religious or philosophical indoctrination: although it may
seem that many theists are "caged" by specific beliefs or ideas, the same
can be said for atheists and agnostics: it's common for "modern people" to
be positivists, empiricists or hedonists. Much can be learned from reading
literature that can be hundreds or thousands of years old, despite what
"modern people" think.

We could just be a particle of dust on someone else's laptop. Meaning size doesn't matter. Our entire universe that we know, could just be one of infinite universes, all grouped together in a little fish tank, where that "supreme being" gets to watch his creation unfold. He gets that satisfaction of voyerism, which many of us enjoy in our lives.
It's speculation, but somehow every action is made known to G-d, whether
"good" or "evil". Although "mankind" may be "insignificant" in the observable
universe, somehow G-d cares for "mankind": e.g., Psalm 8.

But then, who created him??? That's where the rabbit hole ends, and I don't have a clue of where to begin.
So what would you say I am?? A deist, an agostic, an atheist, or just a confused person like many, still searching for all the answers, which I might never find... Thanks...
Not everything is "created": Does "truth" need to be created?
You're simply a confused theist "like many". Since you've been reading the
bible, maybe focus on what the "Great Rabbi" (or "Great Teacher") said. His
words are more important than any words anybody on this forum can say:
e.g., John 14:6.
Thanks for sharing.
