I'm a Christian, but there's no need to pretend like God isn't a mystery, and that it all makes sense. If you could explain how it makes sense, I think you'd be the first.
I misunderstood your post. I read it as belief in God makes no sense instead of the concept of God makes no sense.

Define 'higher'? Do you mean more important, or desirable? Why do I have to choose, the answer is going to very depending on circumstances.

Which is higher, Rationality or Anger?
Which is higher, Rationality or Jealousy?
Which is higher, Rationality or Greed?

Rationality wins all the match ups! And I win because I had three and you only had two.

This is funny because I think that theistic beliefs are very much about control. I think that my acceptance that I have no given purpose in life, that my life has no meaning in a universe with no meaning is giving up control in a far far more significant way than believing that a deity is actually in control of my life. Theists aren't giving up control so much as that they're assuming someone else has it and that's reassuring to them.

I agree that theistic beliefs are very much about control. They talk about faith but don't live what they talk about.

Rationality wins all the match ups! And I win because I had three and you only had two.
Look, even if the Iranian soccer team wins 3-0 vs Thailand, it still loses 0-2 to Spain. So winning vs Thailand doesn't make you a winner over Spain. Rationality says this is very clear.

More desirable and more important and higher are the same, out of a rational point of view.

Rationality says: Love and Letting go are higher than me.

Yes religions are about 'Letting go' and 'control' at the same time.

How this, what?

'Letting go' means: Don't plan your next second (have faith), rationality says this is right!
Why? Next second doesn't exist. This is clear. Even if the next second should exist: rationality says, you don't know what happens in the next second, you cannot control what happens in the next second, so planning is still wrong. Planning what we cannot plan and control is not rational!

Control means: Don't let Mr. Ego forcing you to plan your next second. And Mr. Ego has a friend. His friend is Ms. Evil. Ms. Evil makes you think what Mr. Ego says, is rational. You must care (plan) for eating, drinking, sex...

Even if rationality tells you, you should behave similar to a believer, now at this point Mr. Ego and Ms. Evil shut down the rationality. Now we might die, we might response in a very weird manner, we will ultimately do whatever is necessary to avoid turning on rationality. And although at some point we did turn off rationality, we still brag with our rationality. Planning for eating, drinking and sex is just too appealing.

Now a question for Mr. Rationality:
Why do we become unhappy?
Mr. Rationality: Every time we plan something and it doesn't work, this makes us unhappy. Let it go, don't plan and dissatisfaction right away disappears.

How can you rationalise your way to happiness? Is it even possible?

This is one of those weird (rationality turn off) responses.

Rationality is defined as "the state of having good sense and sound judgment". Are you suggesting that is not desirable, that we should replace that with.. what, faith?

When you put it like that, you make it sound like you're giving up thinking for yourself. Oh wait...
