For the "big five" from oldest to newest, it's:

Hinduism - Judaism - Buddhism - Christianity - Islam

the way to true faith is through humility, wich leads me to believe most atheists' on this thread will be for life.

Yes I wish the bible said more on the topic of humility. I thinks its one of the sacred keys. It certainly seems to be the one that makes a lot of religious leaders ineffective.

I remember R. A. Torrey writing about D.L. Moody once and he said what made Moody effective is he never lost his humility. A lot of big religious leaders get puffed up with pride once they have the ears of the masses and that is precisely when they crash and burn and lose their influence.

That's why God gave Paul a thorn in his flesh as well to keep him humble while divine mysteries were revealed to him. I suspect this could be the secret to Satan himself. A thorn in the flesh might have made all the difference for Satan. Seems to be the thing that bursts the bubble of pride.

This is the one thing I think stops most people, especially males. There is this preconception that loving Jesus takes away your masculinity. It's just not "cool". But in actuality, finding God is what allows you to find yourself which allows you to stand the tallest.

The world is what gives people complexes an insecurities and God (not of this world) is what takes them away.

Exactly. The greatest failing of the 20th and the 21st century to date is the failure to raise Christian men and teach them their responsibility.

You would think with God according men such high status they would love him more. Guess the last couple of generations didn't do a very good job of passing things down.

I'm weird in that I'm probably the only person alive that could envision themselves joining the Amish. Except for their lack of evangelizing I'd say they get close to getting everything right. They even eschew technology because of the latent temptations. I wonder what made them decide to sequester themselves from the rest of the world. What made them decide the world was too dangerous for them to go out in it any longer?
