By observation I guess, is the simplest answer. So youve observed people being sent to hell( not in a figurative sense, but literally?)

I will ask again, How do you know its the truth?

Think about it this way. If god is real and his word is real, then you believe whats in the word. I don't have to be in hell to know its real. You don't have to experience something first hand to know about it.

When I said"don't have to experience it" that was in reference to hell or anything afterlife related. Of course I have experienced god, why else would I believe? How could I believe if I didn't experience him. Sometimes you need to have faith first then you experience him or in more desperate times you immediately experience him. So many times in my life I reached a point where I said "god is true, god is real". Those are just deep moments in ones life and walk with god. Sometimes we wander off but hes always there guiding us in the right direction. Always willing to give us that extra boost when we need it in crucial times.

Buddhists, Muslims, Ba'hai's feel the same. People feel that about dead people they loved. Someone could tell me that my mum/gf/ etc was dead, and i could "experience their presence" then bazinger that person lied. Its so easily explainable/switched with something pyschological. I'm sure you might have experienced god, but you have no reason to believe this when it could be switched so easily with a pysch experience
