Ok, good deal. Thank you for answering and taking the time. Boyd has changed my outlook on Christianity, and if I was not introduced to him I doubt that I would be a christian (if you can call me that) today. So I am always curious as to what other people (that I respect their opinion) think of Boyd.
Yes, it's unfortunate that literature ( works by Dante, Milton and others ) and medieval Roman Catholicism significantly shaped views of "hell" within "Christianity"; also, the common conflation of
Gehenna and "lake of fire" is quite unfortunate. It's even more unfortunate that we don't talk as much as we ought to about the "narrow gate" that leads to "eternal life" through repenting and believing the "good news" - especially, the "gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ".
