AFAIK, there is no Biblical basis for considering it only an allegory. If someone thinks otherwise, please provide chapter and verse.

There are many examples of allegories in the Bible. Here are just a few, straight from the horses mouth. As you requested, they include chapter and verse.

There is, but didn't you say that you believed the story anyway?

I asked you in another thread if you'd explain why you felt the Tower of Babel story was true, but not others. I guess you didn't see it or didn't feel like responding?
