One doesn't need to be a Christian to see they come on a range. In a stunning twist that is pretty common state of religions.

I agree about Islam and Mormonism. I also agree about Obama being a liar. I'm making the point that I disagree with the OP that Obama is a secret Muslim. That makes no logical or practical sense. And it makes no sense that he could somehow be a Muslim yet deny that faith and follow none of the tenets of the religion. That's all I was saying.

To those that laugh about saying some people are true Christians and others aren't, that's an extremely important debate that has been settled more than one time in the history of the church. That why we have creeds such as the Nicene Creed to help define the true beliefs of orthodoxy. We also have extensive confessions of faith such as the Westminster and London Baptist which is a near copy of the Westminster. With out a doubt different orthodox denominations debate amongst ourselves on important beliefs but we still consider the others to be true believers. We debate secondary issues.

If everyone who claimed to "believe in Christ" was a true Christian then it would be a free for all. The Bible is very clear about who and what a true Christian is. Again, we can debate secondary issues but for the most part all evangelical Protestant denominations agree on the main tenets of the faith, such as who Christ is, the virgin birth, the resurrection, the assention, the Trinity, salvation by faith alone and Biblical inerrancy. I have no time or desire to get into all of that because it's well known that most Protestant denominations all agree on those things. Mormans, Jehovah witnesses and Roman Catholics don't hold to all the same beliefs. I am also not saying that a Catholic cannot be a true Christian but the Catholic Church holds beliefs that Protestants obviously don't believe are in line with Biblical salvation.

This one time a Christian tried to sell me their religion while I sat on a bench. I listened for a moment and then said. "I respect your beliefs, no thank you". The reaction which occurred was "well these aren't beliefs, I'm talking about truth...."I replied "I know all about truth and I forgive you, goodbye". The man's lips kept moving, but he had lost his words.

I didn't respect the man's behavior in the instance I recounted. Fortunately I had my own to respect in the situation.
