Per a league source, after the person administering the test to Tebow's group had finished, Tebow made a request that the players bow their heads in prayer before taking the 50-question exam.

Said one of the other players in response: "Shut the f--k up." Others players in the room then laughed.
Cool story bro

Spiritual materialism or spiritual narcissism are terms used to describe mistakes spiritual seekers commit which turn the pursuit of spiritualism into an ego building and confusion creating endeavor.

Not a good idea...especially from a 3rd string NFL QB.

Can you imagine the outrage Tebow would have if an atheist stood up after the test and asked everyone to close their eyes and hold hands and think about how god doesn't exist, but if you reverse the roles and add in Tebow's religious assertions everything becomes not only kosher but holy. Ignorance is bliss.

Forget Atheism, what if a devout Muslim suggested a prayer to Allah?

Lol can't wait to hear how this one ends up. The writer called it a "league source", could it have been some team's GM or even staffer making it up to drive Tebow down other team's draft boards?

When someone, especially a journalist with a junior varsity on-line web site, says "We're not passing judgment on this one; we're just passing along what we've heard." <-- interpretation is "There is no valid source to this but I'm going to report it because I think it makes a good story whether factual or not"

If it never happened then it has much in common with most Bible stories.

What is the major difference between the Tebow story and the Bible story of Ananias and Sapphira dropping dead after not giving all of their money to the Apostle?

Spoiler:
They are both fiction, but
Spoiler:
the Tebow story has a better punchline.

A junior high school debating tactic. If someone who disagrees with you is dishonest, loudly proclaim the dishonesty. If someone who agrees with you is dishonest, find someone who disagrees with you and loudly proclaim their dishonesty. The quality of this forum has decayed rapidly in the last few months. Where have the people like All-in gone?

You call yourself a poker player?

You didn't spell my name correctly, and you probably don't know why.

Look it up, it then come back.

And to answer your question pal. Why not start a poll about it? I would have preferred to have one thread, with poll questions about dozens of unbelievable stories from the Bible, to document what people believe in 2010, but that is not technically possible. What you see is what you get.

There have already been posts in this forum that claim that the ancient Greeks did not really believe in all those goofy gods and stories.

We are documenting what Christians believe here. And the process has just started.

2+2 is populated mostly with poker players. Presumably with some sensitivity to bluffs and misrepresentation. The results so far are interesting.

Ummm... nooo... I knew it when I first read it.

Seriously..... think about it. Leave your beliefs aside and mine... does it make any sense at all?

Regardless of whether you like Tebow or not... he's a well respected individual in the football world. Would it make any sense for anyone to say "Shut the **** up" to a guy that is destined to make it in the NFL. Also... would it make any sense that a sub-par internet website reporter would be in the room during test time... oh wait... the reporter didn't actually hear this... he was merely reporting "what he heard". Not citing any real references.... just passing on what he heard.
I also use the term reporter very loosely here.....I'll bet you this guy has no degree in journalism... because if he did... he would know better than to say "Just passing along what I heard".

Come on dude.... you're smarter than that.

Yeah, Tebow is so well-respected in the football world that some football people make up stories to mock his religious beliefs, while others project him as a backup fullback.
