Some(I say some as not all are the same) Evangelical leaders tend to lead a life of luxury, and seem most interested in making money under the guise of yelling praise Jesus!!!!!(or praising Jesus in a more calm manner ), but then on the other hand asking for loads of money. As a Catholic I cant really make fun of folks like Kenneth Copeland or other "ministers" who often wear nice suits and rolex watches, living in mansions.

Yet Pope Francis, the leader of 1 billion strong, a man of great faith who says to help the poor and to think of the poor, doesn't live a life of luxury. Jesus Christ did not live a life of luxury, Christ worked and gave Gods message of helping the poor.

I will say this much, when I see a guy who is shouting praise to Jesus on one day, but on another, shouting to people to give him/her money, this becomes unchristian like. Still I pray for these people, I respect how they(some of these ministers of super churches) talk about doing positive things. But some of the leaders of so called mega Evangelical churches have questionable tax reports.

Pass it down pass it down As some well known female "minister" says with passion, to her followers. -about the 3:00 min mark.

The above clip reminds me of a scene from the film angel heart, where a preacher is up at the box yelling to folks to give him their money, claiming I'm sick of my Cadillac, I want a rolls royce! . I wish I could find that scene as it pretty much mimics what some of these televangelists do.

How do folks feel about televangelists such as Paula White Kenneth Copeland and Creflo Dollar?

Pope Francis has shown his desire to keep up the humble lifestyle he cultivated in Argentina in several ways: He showed up to pay his own pre-conclave hotel bill in person, personally called his newspaper carriers in Buenos Aires to cancel his subscriptions, frequently talks about the need for priests from the pope on down to serve the people, and spent Holy Thursday washing the feet of young inmates at a detention center outside Rome, instead of cleaning priests' feet (or delegating the washing) in Rome's ornate churches, as previous popes have done. But his highest-profile move has been his decision to live in a small suite in the Vatican hotel, the Casa Santa Marta, instead of the opulent 12-plus-room papal apartment on the top floor of the Apostolic Palace.

There will "be no 16th-century polished marble floors or roof terrace with unmatched views of Rome" for the "least popey Pope in papal history," says Simon Usborne at Britain's The Independent, at least not outside of office hours: Francis will use the papal apartment as his workspace, to receive official guests and handle papal business. But he'll live in the antiseptic, institutional hotel with other guests, eating in a communal dining room and celebrating mass with Vatican groundskeepers, domestic staff, and other low-level workers — "for now," says Vatican spokesman Fr. Federico Lombardi. "We'll see how it works."
You can say that he's living comfortably, but calling it a life of luxury is a mischaracterization, especially relative to the lifestyle of previous popes.

Creflo Dollar is very entertaining. I've seen maybe half a dozen of his shows on TV. The pattern I've noticed is that he keeps using lines from the Bible that he spins to justify that God wants you to be rich, that it is your right to be rich. In fact, you're not a true Christian if you are not rich. Unfortunately, I can't remember any specific passages but this is how he does it.

And because he already is open about the importance of being rich, he is not even ashamed to televise videos of people donating money. LOL Once, I saw them even have close ups of people putting money into those containers...something other evangelists don't even show. In fact, other evangelists show choirs singing while the collectors are in the audience with the baskets in which the audience can put in their money.

Creflo Dollar actually models the behavior of taking money and showing that it is perfectly okay to do so.

Osteen, Dollar and the others seem to use stuff from Tony Robbins and Robert Kiyosaki. Especially Dollar. LOL

I also wanted to get folks views on Evangelical ministers such as Paula White, Kenneth Copeland and Creflo Dollar.

Aaron W provided a decent link to answer your concerns on the Pope.

The church I attend has 25,000 members, but also a $10,000 a month electric bill. If I fell behind on my electric bill and I was about to be shut off this upcoming friday, I am 100% certain they would pay it, as they have done for many that I have known that have fallen on hard times over the years. There is something to be said for the church who can actually bless others out of their abundance. When a guy I knew was in a jam in Florida I called church after church asking if they could help him. Not many could. Half of them had nonworking numbers from being closed down.

The point is- how can you help someone out of a jam, if you are in a jam yourself?

Edit: I don't see any reason why a church shouldn't be empowered with a lot of resources.

As for the pastors, I don't take it upon myself to claim to know the hearts of others. I'm sure there are some con artists out there.

Am not really surprised, either, to see thekid345, a muslim, making another post to try to malign christians and shame the cause of Christ.

I have already told you I'm Catholic.

Your "broadside attacks" are getting more and more absurd as you post. Respond to the argument, even if I was a Muslim so what, are you against Muslims?

I am itt criticizing the life of luxury that some of these Evangelical "ministers" live, running into tax issues as well. What kind of follower of Christ uses millions of dollars from church members for mansions and Rolexs, 22 million dollar jets and much more. ?

And btw Doggg, what kind of Christian would break the Golden rule, which is to treat others as you want to be treated. You cant treat Muslims like dirt but you do. And you whine and moan if there is anything positive that is said about Islam and its followers.

Nothing broadside about it. I believe you are a muslim pretending to be a catholic. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this.

Everything about the doctrine you have espoused here screams ISLAM. Almost every thread you start is designed to glorify the cause of that anti-christian religion and its false prophet, or rather it is a direct assault on Christianity or its followers.

If you actually look into it, you might find that many of them live off the proceeds of their books, tapes and appearances, and no longer receive any pay from their churches.

My problem isn't with Muslims, it is with the anti-Semitic, anti-Christ religion itself. That religion is already drunk on the blood of the saints. It is best to come out of it before it is too late. I urge you to renounce a religion that has caused the wide-scale persecution, genocides and murder of so many of the children of God. It's for your own good.
