This is a discussion board, not a church. Although I am an atheist, I broadly agree with your position that this small piece of relatively late-period Apocryphal gospel is not a challenge to Christian belief. However, you argue your position poorly, rudely, without sources, and are pretty much putting a "KICK ME" sign on your own back as a consequence.

1. This has just been reported as a trivial odd find. Nobody takes it seriously except a few credulous people who would believe anything (like you apparently).

2. I shouldn't have to do that. Why do you want to offend people to the max until you are stopped by others ? That's not very mature.

I shouldn't have to spoon feed other posters. If they do not have enough knowledge to respond then they shouldn't respond. They should definitely not become personally offensive. There appear to be a lot of perverse anti-religionists on here who seem to want to goad anyone with an interest in ethics, morals or religion. They should take it elsewhere. Some idiots on here have tried to argue that getting drunk, whoring, drug-taking and gambling are all "moral". You couldn't make it up. Now please stop making excuses for your abusive friends.

Did any of what I said sink in ? Do you think that people should have to put up with profane avatars/images ?

If the image isn't violating the ToC I don't see that anyone has a right to make a fuss about it. Personally, I right-click>******* annoying/offensive avatars. There is also a vBulletin 'ignore' feature you can use if you feel that you'd rather not see asdf's avatar OR posts.

Cwocwoc,

I am a very conservative Christian in my lifestyle and views.
I don't find ASDF or Zumby rude/offensive.
While I generally arrive at different conclusions than ASDF or Zumby, they are some of the most reasonable fellas here.

ASDF and Zumby are sincere truth seekers IMO.
It is not fair to judge them based on their conclusions.

Even if it's profane and it's posted on the Religion board ? The ToC is the minimum standard. You are adopting the "Pastor Terry Jones defence" but then you seem to show little genuine interest in religion, ethics or morality.

I am not an American. Here in Europe we don't compromise our principles and asdf and Zumby seem to be completely amoral. I don't notice either of them showing the slightest interest in finding the truth. asdf is claiming Jesus was married on the basis of utter tosh. He knows that Jesuses were ten a penny and that the piece of paper has no context but he still pursues this barmy idea. Presumably everbody kept it under their hats and that's why it's never mentioned in the Bible ! The idea is actually quite offensive to Christians and Muslims as Jesus was divine not human.

I think you (Cwocwoc) should read a bit more Matthew 5:44 & Romans 12:14 and a little less Ezekiel 25:17

Neither Zumby or ASDF are proposing that Jesus had a wife (note they didn't start the thread). However, they are participating in a discussion and requesting evidence/references/support for what people claim.

How can you judge the morality of ASDF or Zumby?
You don't even know them... they could be more moral than you or I.

I don't think Zumby is American and neither am I.

In my estimation America seems very Christian and Europe seems largely secular & atheist.
Just my impression.

I need not defend Zumby because his posts illustrate his genuine interest in religion, ethics, and morality. Your posts illustrate that while you might be interested in those same topics, you are not interested in having a polite and rational discourse.

It always saddens me when someone is so rude and unreasonable that it becomes more productive for me to put them on ignore than read their posts. But lets face it, you didn't use the Oxford comma, and there's really no looking past that.

Jesus was 100% human.
I am not sure why you think He wasn't.
Jesus was the son of God and the Messiah, but AFAIK still 100% human.

Jesus was born. Jesus ate, drank, pooed, peed, bled, and died like a human.

Oh noes, a V sign

Actually it rather looks to me as though she's simulating cunnilingus rather than giving a V sign, hopefully thinking along these lines will help clam, I mean calm your fears that anything bad is happening.

Regardless, this is a discussion board for adults, not a church, so you're going to have to deal with it.

The people who knocked out the Gospels thought Jesus was divine so that renders your post irrelevant. Christians and Muslims believe that Jesus did not die but was taken up by God and he will return to complete his work.

Zumby is not going to purgatory for being amoral. He is going to hell for being the RGT Slow Pony King. I will be surprised if I hit post and do not see that he posted something similar mere seconds before my post appeared.

That's very rude. The irony of it. He was obviously frightened that he might learn something he'd rather not know. That's the way of the hypocrites. It looks like real morality is too much for a lot of posters on here.

Project much?

EDIT: Hypocrites. You mean like someone who goes on at length on how poker is immoral and yet makes five poker related threads? You mean, that kind of hypocrisy?

LOL
Why are you posting filth on a religion board ? Why should religious people or those with real morals have to put up with idiots who have come on here just to poke fun at them ? What's "adult" about that ? It sounds completely childish and puerile.

Christians and Muslims believe that Jesus did not die...

What?

Maybe Muslims believe that.

If Jesus didn't die then how could he every be resurrected from the dead?

How could Jesus die for the sins of the world, if He didn't really die?

Every Christian and Christian pastor/teacher I have ever met believes Jesus died.

Even non-Christians believe Jesus died.
The gospel accounts have Jesus dying as well.

The idea that Jesus did not die is anti-Christian becuase it nullifies his work on the cross.
