It seems that almost every generation believes they are in the end times, and maybe they are. The real problem is, every generation thinks they are the generation that Jesus will return for his 2nd (or 3rd?) coming.

This thread is not to debate what exactly this 2nd coming entails. Some believe it means the rapture and all the crazy stuff listed in revelations. Some believe that it means something else. Regardless all believe that when it happens, the whole world will recognize that Jesus *has returned* for the 2nd/3rd? time!

So the question I pose to Christians, at what point in history should Christians start to *seriously* doubt their faith if Jesus has not yet returned? 2100 AD? 2500 AD? 10000AD? 1000000000AD? never?

I would be nice if humans could break free from these superstitions before 2100.

The internet is helping the process though. It was not too long ago that we would have to be silent.

Someone should dig up all the "Jesus is coming soon" foolishness from the bible and post it here. Gospels and Revelation if I remember correctly.

P.S. Why did Jesus need the stone rolled back to get out of the tomb?

He didn't, but His apostles and all observing nonbelievers certainly benefited from seeing an empty tomb. After all, after his resurrection he didn't appear to everybody, and if his apostles then said "Jesus appeared to me!" people wouldn't believe him, but if those people heard Jesus's tomb was empty and then heard it, they would take it a little more seriously.

We might all have taken it a little more seriously if God had carved "Jesus Lives" on the moon.

But I guess rolling back a stone is better than nothing.
