This is to the administrator: how is it that the present mod on RGT has advised to shut the forum down and has stated that you agree with this ? To what end ?

This appears to be a personal matter on his part as an atheist calling for the elimination of spirituality as a parting shot. There are a number of forums that have low traffic but no calls to eliminate as I would suggest that having a full service site is to your advantage.

As historical basis RGT was split from science math and philosophy due to the screams of anti religious members and now they have a science forum that is a barren wasteland.

People will post and go to this or any site where restrictions are lessened and not left up to the whims of prejudiced monitors.

RGT without a mod is totally viable or at the very least advertise for another.

In my opinion, the bolded is definitely uncharitable and probably false.

Instead of assuming some nefarious plot on OP's part, how about literally asking him directly instead of making uncharitable assumptions about his motives?

It wasn't meant to be charitable , there was no reason for him to finesse a shut down. It was full of ill will and stares you in the face ; you acting like a good person you think you are only stays within yourself and doesn't speak to the issue.

He didn't have to judge and condemn but he did and you sit there doing what ?? He's already given his reasons and I'm speaking to him and you; you can sit there and display how wonderful you are all day but the issue stands as a less than adequate negative manifestation of good will, a miscreant malfactoid.

Taking this forum off the forum listing would be a huge mistake.

You can go back to threads from 2009 with the forum listed, but if someone searches for a user’s posting history, it only returns the last 250 posts.

Freeze the forum but don’t take it down.

SMP isn’t exactly full of quality discussion either. That’s why I thought combing all the dregs made sense.

Does anyone know where Shuffle is or what happened to him? It's like all his threads were erased.

Yes. He got into it with several mods of differing forums over covid and vaccine related posting.

He reached out to management and when things weren't going his way he started threatening legal action. I'm unclear whether he asked for his account to be nuked, or if he became so adversarial that they decided to put some distance between the parties.

It is God's will.

i liked shuffle but was deeply concerned for him, he showed real moments of illogical anger culminating in him talking about giving away all his money and possessions without seemingly putting much thought into what step 2 of that plan entailed - something which was especially concerning since he'd previously been very focused on building retirement level wealth via options trading

His COVID/vaccine posts were epic. Didn't age well though.

I like shuffle and enjoyed reading his posts.

I know he took on a very large put option on Boeing but exited about a month before a once in a multiple lifetime scenario (covid) hit that demolished the stock. It would had been the lottery for him.

I am not sure how much that had played a role in what ever happened after that but I have a hunch that it still bothers him.

In it's hay-day there were several intelligent posters, mainly atheists, but was moderated by a believer named Jibninjas who did a horrible job and would just abandon conversations when his feet were held to the atheistic fire. Most people just got fed up and left and spent their time more productively elsewhere, myself included.

Not that I can remember off the top of my head. Just look at the threads that were in here like 13 years ago (something like that).

I think a few other factors that contributed to this being a ghost town: a lot of interesting people were banned or censored and politics became so prevalent since then that it effectively became the go-to for people that wanted to debate/discuss.
