You are just going to have to take some chill pills and wait.
You seem to have plenty of time to respond immediately when someone posts.

Is it that you have to search for a textbook on the history of Western Civilization that DOESN'T have a substantial amount of information about Christianity?

Sigh, does it occur to you that maybe i can respond to some posts because i only takes like 10 seconds? What you are asking for can take a while to produce. And i cannot live on RGT this Saturday afternoon.

You know absolutely nothing about following God's Word.

I don't believe there IS a god -- why would I be concerned with following a word you think he likes to say?

A Kentucky state Senate committee has approved legislation allowing the Bible to be studied as a literary subject in public schools, a move that means the state will likely follow Tennessee, Texas and a handful of others in bringing the Christian text into the curriculum.

I did know know? I super knew? Actually, I did know about this. It was discussed on the atheist experience some time ago, which I watch every week. But cool story bro.

Go ahead and dress up like the pope and praise Jesus in school, it will be ok.
Wrong...... When was the last time you were in School? Have you ever read the newspapers and watched t.v.

Omg, Muslims cant stand the fact that we salute the flag and say in God we trust.

If they do not like the freedom and the beliefs of the main core of our country then the door swings both ways, they can leave the same way they came in and for all you unbelievers, if you do not like it, then you can leave also, and do to a country that is highly unbelievers where you can enjoy yourselved much better.

Also, they teach philoshopy, which is a religion in itself. Religion is nothing more nor less than man made beliefs.

GTFO. Just go to a theocratic country where you can beat your women and enslave those who oppose you.

A philosophy is not necessarily a religion. Buy a dictionary and GTFO

I've been in school for the past 20 years (and I'm not done yet).

Are you sure you mean to say Muslims and not atheists? Regardless, what does your post have to do with anything? Students can wear turbans or kippas or carry the bible - it's all good. Having the public school itself force students to acknowledge the existance of God, however, is unconstitutional.

And it seems weird that you think you're the one upholding freedom in this country. So you're ok with Muslims wearing religious attire in school? You're ok with women having the choice to have abortions? You're ok with gays adopting children?

I don't get it either. Just look at how US conservatives want to stick their noses in our right to play poker online? I can't for the life of me understand that. What is this communist China? Who are they to tell us that we can't engage in a perfectly legal activity from the privacy of our own homes? Yet, they complain that this country is losing its freedom.

The religious conservative right is all for protecting freedoms as long as those freedoms happen to agree with their brand of ideology. If not, then everyone else can GTFO.

Hmmm, Gunth starts a thread making absurd statements and touting them as fact, gets thoroughly owned on every point, changes his stance (it started as no one ever gets taught about Jesus in public schools. Now when faced with specific examples and simple math showing this is not true it's now a bad perspective that's not taught enough around the entire world.), and now inexplicably has a life and can't respond. Shocking.

Also, Pletho, in the public HS I went to, there were multiple prayer groups, Bible study groups, after school Christian groups, etc. that were more than welcome to post ads for the group on any public bulletin board and in some cases were run by Christian teachers employed by the public school. They were even allowed to use school facilities to do so. I knew several students that openly carried a Bible wherever they went and read it during study hall instead of doing homework. No one was ever bothered. Where on earth are you guys getting this stuff from?

Edit: And I'm in my mid 20's (pretty sure younger than you Pletho, tho obv dont know for sure) so all of this was relatively recently.

UK school(s). I'm 22 so this was recent.

In high school every 1st year student was also given a free copy of the New Testament and Psalms (I still have mine).

Every morning at assembly there'd be a Bible reading and prayer. Assembly involved the entire 1k students of the school.

We had a number of times where a Christian outreach rock band sort of thing came to play at assembly. This was followed with them also coming to our Religious Education class and playing some acoustic versions of their god lovin' songs.

There was an organisation called CU which was after school Bible study and all things Christian.

Our Physics teacher explained to us how science strengthened his belief in God.

This was just a bog standard UK school, not a Christian school or anything.

Gunth STILL hasn't had the time to present "his case" or even tell us what Western Civ textbook he used in high school. For someone who's posted in this thread FORTY times, he sure hasn't said much.

Gunth, how exactly is it that you have the time to post in this specific thread 40 different times since Thursday afternoon, yet you can't find the time to write ONE post that actually has some substance instead of your repetitive, banal assertions?

and who starts a thread before they have time to present their case? lol we all know its a cop-out but its still funny.

It has been 2 days, i'm sorry i just have not had time to find out all the history books i have been given in school. How long do you think it would take you to find out every history book you were taught from? Obviously it would take at least a few hours and i have not had that much time at my disposal.

If i had as much free time as you to go search through a big thread to see how many times someone posted in it, i would of had this done already. But this is not the case. I suggest you go find something better to do in the meantime.

I did present my case. I did not learn jack about Bible history or it's affect on today's society in school. Now there were some points brought up that obviously is going to take a lot of time to discuss with.

But I thought you remembered everything you were taught in high school? With a memory that good, I'd expect you to at least remember the name of 1 book you used.

I suggest you gather what you need to gather to quit getting worked in your own thread rather than telling me what I should do with my free time.

And just for the sake of being able to count, it's been three days (you started this thread Thursday afternoon, and it's Sunday).

So, your case for thinking there needs to be more religion taught in public schools is that you as an individual do not remember being taught anything about the Bible while in public school?

And in 42 posts now, you've offered nothing more substantive than that, responded with substance zero times to any of the points leveled against your case, and you wonder why it is there are "haters" of your repetitive, self-assured assertions?
