I'm afraid I have to return the chuckle, given that you know nothing about me, nor what I give to charity. The mentality I'm criticizing in my OP is quite clearly directed to a specific mindset.
Also, I don't want to politard up the thread, but that supposedly Christian Republicans are constantly fighting against programs for the poor is beyond debate. Personal charity is not and will never be sufficient to provide for the poor in this country.
There is a certain sect of Christians who resist assistance to the poor because they believe people are poor because God wills it.
