First we're drinking pee and now we're circlejerking?

This thread is going to end up in some really nasty google-searches.

Why would I?

How do I know he isn't an atheist impersonating a theist?

They do that on here, y'know.

I'm more interested in the science question of whether or not mental skepticism is related to a misapplication of the brain's reticular activating system. But I haven't come to a conclusion yet.

Most people realize you can use skepticism to a certain degree for the material physical world but it's useless in assessing spiritual matters yet skeptics keep insisting on using scientific methods like they are infallible in regards to spiritual matters and disregard Gould's NOMA proposition.

What is the Reticular Activating System of the brain?:

It makes you wonder how many people follow the herd on incomplete information. There's a lot of information between science and religion that isn't easily accessible to the general public.

I literally LOL'd.

Any time a theist says something stupid, it's probably an atheist impersonating a theist. I mean, obviously.

Yeah, skepticism is useless in assessing spiritual matters. We should just believe whatever we're told by religious leaders and religious books. And by religious leaders and religious books I mean Christian leaders and the Bible, because all those other religions are full of crap, obviously.

I've had people troll me on here pretending to be theists.

You don't think impersonation isn't easy on here?

C'mon...where's that intelligent skepticism you pride yourself on?

Ever heard of meeting someone in the middle or holding your conclusions/judgments in abeyance/suspension?

Mmmmm, irony is tasty.

I was disappointed by that link. I do suspect that the brains of theists and atheists are working differently (in a qualitiative sense) when it comes to the matter of belief in a god, so based on what you wrote I was hoping I'd get to read something addressing this. Nope, it's just a preacher who's recounting a scientific anecdote he heard in order to segue into some Bible verses. Too bad.

I surely hope so, in a way. But I think it's infinitely more likely that people like Splendour mean exactly what they say and speak on it without fear of reprisal because our PC society is collectively afraid to say, "You're bat**** ****ing crazy!".

Religion will be the death of us, one way or another, I fear: the most advanced species on this planet will be killed by fairy tales. Fate seems to have a sense of irony.

Except atheists body counts are higher than theist body counts.

And people have persisted in living for a really long time with or without religion.

Your post really makes you sound paranoid.
