Maybe God divinely inspired someone to write the completely unbelievable story of the talking donkey as a clever method to easily separate non-believers from the truly faithful. Those who can't believe that it is literally true would be automatically screwed, blued, and tattooed.

possibly. i'm starting to wonder tho, if i even own a dog at all, or if i just imagined one, and now it's started talking to try and liven my evenings up a bit.
