I went to Catholic school and it was not my choice because i was a kid ….
I grew up and I allowed myself to have critical reflexion about a lot of things.

So don’t be too excited about Einstein being religious in the way u think ….

« Einstein says: “The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive, legends which are nevertheless pretty childish « .

Pretty much what I think .
A Santa Claus’s story for adults.

It isn’t about if god is real or not , it’s about putting so much emphasis on it being true
(without a shred of evidence hence the existence of hundred of gods prior)
to change profoundly in the way u
( not u particularly but deep religious character )
think about reality from Books being rewritten countless times and thinking it’s the ultimate true from god himself !
Yikes ….

That doesn't have much to do with my point. Einstein wrote something like that in German when he was 76 years old. First of all that quote is an mistranslation of the original German text. Why it keeps being presented on the Web like that I do not know. AFAIK there is no ", legends which are nevertheless pretty childish" in the original German text. Certainly since the Bible was written 2,000 years ago it is not wrong to call it primitive. Einstein still believes it is honorable. There is no record of Einstein ever denying the existence of God and in fact he explicitly was quoted saying that he was no atheist. I don't believe the Bible is necessary for basic theistic belief anyway.

The point I was making is that I doubt the occurrence of a seemingly supernatural event such as an apparition appearing in the sky saying "Believe" is ever going to occur. Even if it did people would think it a trick. Nor would some clear violation of natural physical law cause people to believe in the supernatural. There are many strange physical phenomenon, mysteries, and anomalies that are well-documented already. Most educated people seem to feel that they will eventually be explained way after deep investigation and effort. This includes so called miracles in modern times. So I don't think that is the best route to belief. Possibly there are more subtle, but true, miracles that are occurring around us and not being recognized. That's all.

Imho, take yourself with all the gadget u have access today (with the premise of course it would work ) and travel back in time just 2000 years and u would be considered being godlike with all the miracles you would be able to do .

Fwiw I just don’t understand
(beside having the need of being considered very special and the most important thing in the universe aka earth was considered the Center of the universe once )
Why people goes from unexplained phenomenon to god without considering maybe it was just a higher life form (somekind of alien) that just pass by .
Why the need of miracles and god needs to be so shrug .

And it's covered in Jung's Answer to Job. I mean a reality based coverage. Not the "I believe in magic" version.
