The content in the linked video doesn't explain much. As it stands, the current neuroscientific models cannot adequately explain the experiences described in the video you responded to or the experiences of other nde'ers. (Dr. Eben expands further in other online written interviews, and is releasing a book this year). The materialism/dualism issues are still not concrete solved. I agree that it would seem (to me) that in time all of this will be explained and humans are left amounting to robots/computers that cease upon death, however, that isn't an absolute certainty at this point; At best, it's still an "all the evidence suggests..."

There are some really good videos on this site. There are even a myriad of atheists like Dan Dennett and Michael Shermer for those of you who like that sort of thing. And, of course, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, and Jewish thinkers too. It's an ecumenical site.

hoping someone could help me out with this

im looking for a video i watched on youtube a while back and i cant seem to google the right keywords to get it to come up

basically this guy (possible doctor) travels to the jungle, i believe in south america and lives amongst an indigenous tribe. aside from helping them he also preaches about jesus and after some time the tribe tells him that he is welcome to stay but only if they stop trying to tell them about jesus. he became an atheist during this trip when he realized an unsophisticated tribe was able to see that it was not true.

cant find the video, i believe it was around an hour long

This is a brand of Christianity that I can accept. Dr. Ray doesn't not believe that the bible is anything more than parables and are not to be taken literally. He also believes that other religions have just as much to offer humanity as Christianity.

I think atheists would really like this guy's sermons. They are all about how to live a good life and not about dogma.
