PokerStars has allowed me to run a private tournament but you guys need to figure out how you want it.

HU is possible but there's no way to select who plays who, so no atheist vs theist type. So I figure we should pass on this.

This is what I need to know:

When - Do you want it for Sat17th, Sun18th or Sat24th, Sun25?

Time - Midday, Evening, butt crack of dawn?

Buy-in - $5+.50 is the lowest and $500 is the highest.

Password - Display the password in thread (potential for a bigger field) or I could PM it to people from these two forums (smaller more personal field).

Your choice. If there are overwhelming responses that aim for this weekend I'll set it up tonight so we can play Sat or Sun.

EDIT: Oh yeah and WOOHOO for RGT!

the sooner the better, i don't care about time (if i can make it i can make it). i'd say at least $10, i'd prefer more, but i'm OK with $10. (5 is too little though).

i also don't care at all about atheist/theist. remember hitch challenged smp to play pog.

Yeah but there's no real way to play against another forum. We could all play in the same tournament and have someone come up with a point system? But someone else would have to come up with how that's gonna play out. The only thing I could come up with is each person gets a point (for their side) depending on what place they ended up in. But the only problem with that is we'd have to have equal number of players on each side.

I can play sunday afternoons. I work Saturdays, so that is not as good for me.
$10 is fine by me.

I think that we should just do a normal tourney style and set up a point system. We can work out a way to weight things if the turn out is lop sided.

If we can all agree to that, I will come up with a fun point system. Just let me know.

yeah but how is that different from theist/atheist? my only point is that if we are going to come up with a point system for team vs. team i'd prefer to do forum vs. forum than atheist vs. theist. but i don't feel strongly. if others disagree i'll go along with whatever. (though i might request to play for the theists for the same reason mike piazza played for italy)

I think you are right. If we have it as SMP/RGT vs POG then we will have many more people and that will add a lot of excitement.

Any Sunday; neither Saturday. Afternoon preferred. $10 will probably garner the most interest, though more (up to, say, $100) is fine.

Post the password itt, I suppose -- but if it's a private tournament we have to discuss our attitudes about collusion beforehand. Have said before that I think we'd be better off just entering the Stars 200K and adding up some number of finishes.

If it's private, the best way of deciding it will be average money won per entrant, if it's >30 people (reasonably distributed between the entering forums), and average finish (numerical), if it's small.

We will be able to get enough entrants to run imo

Ok after reading all of the posts in here and POG I've come to the conclusion that we are no closer then before. Sunday sounds like the best day, along witha $10 BI, but the time is what's causing the conflict. So now I need a vote for the time and at 8:00EST tonight I'm going to take the majority and register a tournament. Here's three choices: 2:00, 4:30, 7:00.. go go go
