I stayed with a friend last night and we stayed up all night and drank and bs'd. But my friend's mom was acting really strange all night, opening the front door every 45 seconds or so and talking in spanish to ... well, no one. This went on non-stop from about 3am to noon, and she kept waking me up with her frequent arguments and door slamming. My spanish is bad, so I really don't know what she was saying. I know she is supposed to be medicated, and my friend should be on top of it, but isn't, admittedly. I know she has been hospitalized before because she slipped off her meds and lost control.

Cue this morning. About 65 minutes ago. Her mom gets on the phone and opens the front door and starts reading off the address. I heard "muchacho" and "emergencia" and realized she was calling the police. My friend came out of the room and tried to take the phone off of her. Loud fighting ensued in spanish.

The mother went into her room and I asked my friend what she said. She just told me that she called the police but that they know her and they won't come. I know better. They were in the house within minutes. Apparently her mother reported that one man was chasing another man with a gun! in front of the CVS.

The police made it clear that if they get another call, the mother will be hospitalized.

Then my friend asked me to give her and her mother a ride to her doctor's appointment. I was to stay with her mom in the car. I refused. I wanted the phone taken away from her. Plus was kinda mad that she didn't quite tell me the whole story that was reported to the police earlier. The first cop that showed up was a rookie, for sure, who was taking the report very seriously, and I was very uncomfortable, and thinking what might have happened if I had tried to leave immediately after realizing she called the police. I could have been shot or killed. Good thing I just sat quietly on the couch in the living room the whole time.

1. My friend is not giving her mom her medication like she should. Quite honestly, she can't even take care of herself.

2. I think her mom is at the point of no return and needs to be hospitalized. When I left, she was back to arguing with imaginary people outside the door.

3. No way I'm sitting in a car with her outside a doctor's office in the middle of the city. Especially since my friend refused to take the phone away from her, which was a big condition I had.

I've only put two people on ignore (that I can think of.) One is still on ignore, yet I read every one of his posts. Especially if it follows one of my own. I read it. I peek, at least. I respond to them openly, in fact, with the quote function and all!

I've given up on the ignore function. It bested me. I'm too curious or too forgiving or simply not as strong-willed as I'd like to be. And I want to believe the best of people, anyway.

Plus, sometimes I post after being "out with friends," and I look back and I say: I regret that post. Or "damn, that was mean." Or whatever. I don't take myself as seriously as I should, sometimes. I wish I didn't say "x" and then have to defend "x," as I'm tied to it now.

Fred Phelps, the founder of the Westboro Baptist Church died today. Wonder if this will have an impact on the church and its antics.

I wonder if there will be protesters at his funeral. I hope people will be classy and stay away, thus emphasizing how despicable WBC is.

I think we should have a new theist moderator. Jibninjas is basically awol, except to pop up once in a blue moon and ban a christian, or close a thread started by christians, which just isn't enough, imo, to justify his continued existence as a moderator.
